The Met’s 13th season of live movie theater transmissions includes spectacular productions featuring opera’s greatest stars. A spring full of devouring passion, violence and jealousy. But also of budding love, self-sacrifice and martyrdom. Opera, streamed live, from the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the classic John Dexter production of Poulenc’s devastating story of faith and martyrdom. Mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard sings the touching role of Blanche and soprano Karita Mattila, a legend in her own time, returns to the Met as the Prioress.
The performance has Swedish subtitles.
